Safeguarding
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical attention, please call the emergency services now on 999 – DO NOT DELAY.
If you think that a child or adult is at risk of harm but is not in immediate danger, please call the local authority social services department.
At St David’s we take Safeguarding really seriously. We want the church here to be a place where all are cared for, respected, and are free from abuse or coercion. As such we are committed to the Church in Wales’ commitment that we will:
- promote the wellbeing of children and adults at risk
- raise awareness of safeguarding within the Church
- work to prevent abuse or harm from occurring
- seek to protect and respond well to those that have been abused.
We have a church Safeguarding officer who ensures that we are taking our role seriously and helps to handle any issues locally to ensure they are passed on to the Provincial Team. As part of the Roose LMA we also have an LMA officer who ensures training and DBS’s are correct and up to date for those who need them.
As part of the Church in Wales we are supported by the Provincial Safeguarding team who offer independent advice and support. Should you have concerns or are aware of any safeguarding issues whether current or historic you can contact the Provincial Officer below who will be able to offer advice and support.
